Welcome to the realm of infinite experimentation. This is a creative studio, community event venue, dance & rehearsal space dedicated to cultivating the growth of arts & culture in Vancouver. Under the umbrella of Shape Shifter Studio, this new studio is an offshoot of the original space that began at Commercial Dr. and Hastings in 2016. Rooted in the values of possibility, curiosity, community, and boundless creativity, we aim to foster an accessible place that can shape shift to the needs and ideas of the people we serve. This includes, but is not limited to, creatives of diversity & colour practicing underrepresented art & dance forms that were birthed from street & club culture. Activities we are happy to host include rehearsals for dance & theatre, movement, yoga, workshops, classes, meetings, pop-up shops, art shows, photo/video shoots, and more.

We honour and acknowledge that we are on the unceded ancestral lands of the Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw), Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ) and Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) Nations. We also want to recognize that we are located in historic Chinatown, Strathcona, and Hogan’s Alley - a neighbourhood that has a deep history of Asian and African diasporic roots, and has informed/inspired many of our art practices.

Please note that we are always open to negotiating these rates. As our first time creating this structure, your feedback is important to us, and that value can be exchanged beyond monetary means. Accessibility is a priority for us, and we can always discuss what’s possible or what might be a better solution for your needs.
